The Long Strides Marathon Training Program is designed for runners of all levels to complete a 26.2 mile Marathon or a 13.1 mile Half-Marathon. The training group meets Saturday mornings at 7:30 AM for the weekly group long runs in Encino, CA. Rain or Shine, we run! Training for the 2012 Los Angeles Marathon (March 18) and any other marathon of your choice are currently open for registration. You are welcome to begin training with the group as soon as you are registered. The official start date of the Los Angeles Marathon training session is September 17, 2011. The training fee for pre-registration is $100. If you register with a friend you will each save $5. NEW: Online marathon and half marathon training is now available for any marathon you choose. If you are not able to commit to the Saturday meetings, but still want a coach for your training, then this is for you. Your training program is based on a questionnaire that you will fill out, your race distance, amount of training time, and your goals. You will receive emails of your training schedule as well as other support emails. You will have access to your coach for any questions you may have via email and phone. You will receive a performance training shirt and a referral list of services as well as discounts at select local running stores. For more information, call or (714) 928-0520. Fees will be per race/training session (typically 5-6 months). Training is available for other requested marathons and half marathons any time of the year. Jogging strollers are welcome, but please, no dogs. More Benefits: Your long runs are local in the San Fernando Valley. You will receive a free performance running shirt with your registration (1st time participants) as well as a weekday training schedule and referral list of services in an information packet. Valley, Sepulveda Basin We meet in the Encino Glen parking lot. Turn into the parking lot off of Burbank Blvd. and turn right. Drive all the way to the end of the parking lot. We meet outside the fence where the running/bike path starts near Burbank Blvd. Trainer: Dr. Heather Cioffi, D.C.
